The Dr. Susan Munayi Foundation (DSMF) is a registered non-profit community-based organization in Kenya working to promote healing, dignity, and resilience among vulnerable women, children, and youth. Founded in 2020 by Dr Susan Munayi, an experienced educationist, a licensed counselling psychologist, a certified professional mediator, an RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) examiner, a certified peacebuilder, and a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) for mediators and counsellors, DSMF partners with communities to provide psychosocial support, empowerment programs, and advocacy for wellbeing.
Our Vision
We envision a healed, empowered, and just society, where individuals, especially women, youth, and other vulnerable groups, can access mental health support, education, protection, and opportunities for sustainable growth.
Guided by the principles of trauma-informed care, gender equality, and community-based development, the Dr Susan Munayi Foundation creates safe spaces for healing, learning, advocacy, and transformation. We believe that when individuals are supported emotionally, socially, and economically, they are better equipped to lead fulfilling, resilient, and purposeful lives.
Our long-term vision is a thriving Bungoma County where every individual enjoys mental, emotional, and personal wellbeing, and where communities are strengthened to care for their own in inclusive and sustainable ways.

Our Mission
Our mission is to promote mental and emotional wellbeing, social justice, and community empowerment through integrated psychosocial support, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives.
We work directly with individuals and families affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, disability, poverty, and social exclusion, offering counseling, psychosocial support, mentorship, referrals, and practical assistance. Through partnerships with schools, healthcare facilities, correctional institutions, and community structures, we seek to address both immediate needs and the root causes of vulnerability.
The foundation is committed to empowering communities with knowledge, skills, and resources that foster healing, resilience, protection, and long-term transformation.
